This year's theme is "Tempest in a Teapot" and our devotions and discussions will focus on this.  Anxiety takes up space in our hearts, space that God uses to comfort us, mold us, to teach us and to heal us, if only we would give Him this room. Anxiety causes us unnecessary pain and worry; it produces nothing, costs us more than we have, and can leave us sick, discouraged and feeling hopeless. What is anxiety? It is a painful uneasiness of the heart over an impending situation which we do not have control. We know who ultimately has control, but we would rather try worry instead.

In Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV) it says

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
