Camping to show youth Jesus' love

Last month, a youth group in El Salvador hosted a camp out with fun games and biblical teaching for 101 students. This was a big deal because they had never done a camping trip before and did not have tents to sleep in. After hearing about their need, generous supporters in Canada gave them the funding to purchase 23 tents to use.

Ten young people made commitments to attend church, one person was baptized, and many agreed to attend the camp next year with their friends.

Written by Jose Rodriguez, Mission Director in El Salvador and Panama:

We reiterate our thanks to you for your financial support and prayers. Thanks to YOU, our entire camp was a success.

This camp was made with the aim of educating children with a Christian doctrine. They also developed recreational, dynamic, and devotional games for the youth so they had an opportunity to know more about God.

We want to help Salvadoran families prevent their children from choosing wrong paths. We help teach them that they can make decisions that will build them up in the future. The camps help our Salvadoran children to take physical and spiritual care.

Our six main objectives are:

1. To teach our children that there is a very beautiful way that will take them to eternal life.

2. Show them that God's way is not boring.

3. Teach them that Jesus Christ loves them with all his heart.

4. Evangelize parents through children. We believe that children are the key to attract parents to church. The camps will help families spend more time together and at the same time have a moment of healthy fun.

5. Families will be stronger and more united in the love of Christ.

6. Parents and relatives will have the opportunity to accept Jesus as their personal savior.

Camps are a simple way to continue investing time in our children. They need it.

Please join us in praying for the students who attended and for those who made life-changing decisions to follow Christ. Pray for God to guard their hearts from the temptations that surround them, for them to be able to feel God's love and spread it to others, and for the plans for next year's camp.
