Ministry Updates: June 2019

Arizona

Dawn Springer retired this month after teaching for 26 years at Red Sands Christian School! We will miss her, and we know many of you will as well! Join us in celebrating Dawn, praising God for her faithfulness and service, and wishing her the best in her retirement!

A special celebration is being planned for Dawn at Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg, Indiana. For the date and party details, simply contact us at connect@lifeline.org. We hope to see you there!

Ecuador

“During this school year, our physical education teacher, Yesenia, coached a soccer team from our school. In the league we are in, there are a lot of secular public schools. Our soccer team did not have the best start of the season. We lost the first game 0-9. After this game, the team was tired but they did not feel discouraged, they were happy to have played. 

Before each game, our team prays and puts the game into the hands of Jesus, which has caused more laughter from other teams. However, our team says it is ok, that it did not bother them because they know who they are and that they play for the glory of God! 

The testimony of these children deeply touched the life of Yesenia who has grown in her relationship with Jesus and in her faith through the children’s faith. 

And I want to add that we finished the championship in third place, earning the respect of the other schools. God always surprises us and teaches us!”

Guatemala

Lifeline's ministry in Guatemala has seen a great deal of movement in the past several months: Mother's Day celebrations, a children's breakfast, collecting stuffed animal for marginalized children, and hosting visiting pastors...they are all examples of how God is lavishing His love on the ministry!

Haiti

On Sunday, June 9, Lifeline's church in Mahotiere celebrated National Kids Day in Haiti! The children in the church played a role in nearly every aspect of the service and it brought much anticipation for how God will use His children in the future!

 
Honduras

Earlier this month, teachers from Lifeline's schools in Honduras learned about bullying and how to prevent it. They also heard about different learning disorders and participated in several exercises to learn how to better help students with their frustrations.

United States

235,872 meals were packed by 1,906 participants in 7 different states in May! Thank you for providing meals to children and families who are struggling with hunger and malnutrition around the world. There are still many more meals needed! Will you step up and help? Start here.

One way to pack more meals for kids struggling with hunger is to provide a dedicated meal packing space at our Columbus ministry centre. This room enables more groups and families to pack meals anytime...which means more meals can be sent to the kids! To create this space, we need to renovate the room. We are a long way from our goal...could you help finish this space, so that more meals can be packed for kids who struggle with hunger? Make a difference now!
