Stories, updates, and more - October 2018

Because you gave your time, prayers, and/or donations, Christ's love is being expressed around the world!

Arizona

We can’t wait to share the exciting news with you! The new school building opened this month and the children are thriving in it! This celebration could only happen because of your generous donations, your tireless efforts working on the building and your faithful prayers. Thank you! You have been a huge blessing to the students and staff. We are praising God for you! As the students and staff settle into their new school, please continue to keep the school and students in your prayers.

Luisito Collage

Guatemala

Luisito Martinez recently went to be with Jesus. He lived five years longer than any doctors expected him to live with his congenital heart defect.

Andy Sims, Lifeline’s VP of Leadership Development, Russ Smith from New Day Christian Church, and Audra Norman, Lifeline's Sponsorship Development Director share,

"Many knew him as “assistant minister” because he was Pastor Jose and Pastor Deybee's sidekick. Luisito’s life and story played a huge role in many people's lives. His courage & spirit, even in such a short life, is part of the foundation of Lifeline’s work in Guatemala and will have a long-lasting impact.

We are sad about Luisito’s death and ache for his family. But, he really was a remarkable young man whose legacy is undeniable. Lifeline and the church are proud of the way he tackled his life & illness and wanted to celebrate what he allowed God to do through his short, challenging life.

He loved Jesus so much! We know that Jesus welcomed him with open arms and he is a new creation with no pain or suffering. Please join us in praying for Luisito's family as they grieve his loss but rejoice in heaven's gain!”

School in Port-au-Prince campus

Haiti

Audra (Connections Manager), Julia (Education Development Manager), and our staff in Haiti are busy registering 130 students who will soon be starting school! Please pray for people who can come alongside these students to love, pray, and encourage them.

These students are all part of our school in Port-au-Prince, which is near Lifeline's second campus. You'll soon have the opportunity to serve here, once this campus opens to mission trip teams in 2019. If you would like to serve in Haiti in this new location, then simply fill out our Trip Interest Form.

Honduran Bible Day

Honduras

A few weeks ago, the country of Honduras celebrated Bible day. This is a nationally celebrated holiday!

In our Ocotillo school, the high school students traveled to downtown San Pedro Sula and held up signs and posters to spread the message of God’s love for everyone. Students prayed for people in the community and displayed signs describing the Gospel.

In our Gonzales school, the students paraded around the community showcasing the message of the Gospel. They displayed scriptures and Biblical concepts, such as God loving the whole world.

The schools also took time to help students memorize scripture and to remind them about the importance of the Bible.

Darwyn, our Director of Schools in Honduras, shared, “We thank God because we have the opportunity and freedom to show others God’s Word. We also thank God for our country and this legal celebration what we have. God bless Honduras and all countries around world.”
