Letters of Encouragement Collage
There was a time when writing letters was the only way to communicate. Do you recall the feeling you'd get when you saw your name on an envelope knowing that someone was thinking about you?

Children at Lifeline's partner church in Guatemala decided to write letters to the children in Haiti and bless them with small handmade gifts like key chains and bracelets. The letters were brightly decorated and translated from Spanish to Creole. They were recently delivered to a very excited group of Haitian students who in turn, wrote letters and prayers as well as colored pictures for the children in Guatemala.

Lifeline's Haitian sponsorship team shared:

"It has been a great experience for the children in our school to get to receive letters and key chains from children in Guatemala. Everybody was very excited to get them! They were very glad to write the children back! They don't really know where Guatemala is, but we shared with them and asked them to study this in Geography. I think it will be great if we can connect the schools like this again. This was a great and meaningful activity for the kids." - NoNo

"The best part of it was seeing their smiling faces and the look of curiosity of who their correspondence might be from knowing in their minds, of course, their friends live very far away. The children asked us many questions. They had a blessed time while writing and coloring pictures to send. They even asked if they can send other items with their letters. It was a fabulous moment of joy for everyone. These types of activities will not only help them be aware of their diversities, but they will also help lead them, biblically speaking, to see that we are all equally bound under the same love of God." - Raynald

We look forward to seeing how the children in Guatemala respond when they receive their pictures and letters from Haiti! We hope and pray that activities like these will encourage our children to think beyond themselves and share the love of Christ with others. Our world is big, but in reality God shows us how small it truly is when he connects us with each other through His Spirit.
