Emily WongKristy serves on our Mobile Meal Pack Team.

You keep ministry momentum moving when you support the ministry of our stateside missionaries: our Lifeline staff who dedicate their lives 24/7 to restoring hope around the world. Your prayers and donations enable our staff to be your hands and feet, as God's love is shared through Lifeline's ministry communities!

“What will you do for Jesus?” I was barely five, but I remember who asked it. Brother Murphy was a missionary from Jamaica whom we looked forward to hosting when he came stateside. His love for Jesus was contagious. He asked that question of me and my siblings because he wanted us to know we had Kingdom work to do, and he wanted the seed planted early.

Many children played “school.” I played “church.” I pretended to teach Sunday school and lead singing just as I saw my parents do in real life. We were the family that hosted missionaries and had ministers to dinner. My mother was a song-evangelist which often involved revivals and sitting on the front row trying to behave if Dad happened to be working nights! I am grateful for loving parents who valued the ministry and mission of Jesus.

It has taken years, however, to learn that growing up in church and living a godly life don’t always equate. The question must first be, “Do you know Jesus? Do you truly know Him?” It’s not a head question. It’s a heart one. It is a lifelong pursuit of receiving and remembering that 5-letter gospel word…grace.

That’s the mission work I’m still about after 28 years of full-time committed marriage and ministry; the two have happened to go hand-in-hand in my life. Jeff and I met, and later graduated from Johnson Bible College (now University) and have served churches in IN, PA, and MD. Our greatest earthly joys are two “blessings from above”: Josiah and Caroline, who we happen to homeschool.

Daily life finds us in Williamsport, PA (home of Little League Baseball). We enjoy playing board games, making music, and traveling. Some of us enjoy reading and writing, while others of us enjoy video games and making videos. We ALL enjoy snacking! That includes our family’s newest addition, Rumpus, a rescue pup that may be part Shetland pony as her size seems to indicate.

Years ago we became dear friends with the Snyder family who just happened to have started working for Lifeline as missionaries. They were based in Arizona. I was asked to speak at the Women’s Tea they were hosting as a part of their women’s missions trip. One trip. That’s all it took. I was hooked. A year later, I did it again. The next year our church hosted a Lifeline meal packing event, and we loved the experience.

Now here I am, as doors have opened for me to join Lifeline staff as the Mobile Meal Pack Administrator. I am not just excited. I am thrilled. What an opportunity to help other people experience the mission of helping the least of these around the world to know that they are seen. They are heard. They have value. They are loved.

Jesus made a feast out of some fish and bread. His ministry was often done around a table with interesting characters. The last meal with His disciples was life-giving. Don’t underestimate the power of a meal!
