"God Has Been With Me!"

"God has been with me, and He has helped me. He put the right people in my life to help me overcome everything," said Jenny.

As a child, Jenny was bullied because of her speech defect. She developed many insecurities. She learned to avoid the spotlight and not stand out. Being a single mother challenged her, though, to set aside her self-reservations because she was desperate to find a way to support her daughter. The need to find work is what brought her to the doorstep of our school. In her interview, we saw character qualities that we were seeking in a new employee. Soon, Jenny was on staff at our school as a math teacher.

Rey Sabio Salomón School (Wise King Solomon) is nestled above the city of Quito, Ecuador. The city displays Spanish architecture from the 1500's as well as modern buildings. The beautiful valleys and mountains surrounding us remind us of God's care for His creation.

Through her work at our school and in this setting, Jenny found confidence and is impacting others with her gifts. During the pandemic, we grew as a team. We had to find new ways of relating and have grown to appreciate the gifting that each of us brings to the table.

Inside the classroom, Jenny's usual quiet side is not what is seen. There, she is dynamic and creative. She says that she feels confidence now because Jesus is with her. She smiles openly, enjoys working with the staff, and is now a teacher trainer in the school! We love seeing Jenny in action and and the joy that she brings to others. God is always faithful, and we see this to be especially true in Jenny's life!
