Meet Silvia and her son Jashua!

Meet Silvia and her son Jashua!

"My name is Silvia, and I’d like to introduce you to my son Jashua. He is 18 years old. He is a wonderful son: noble, generous, compassionate, very intelligent, creative, honest, and a good listener! When he wants to achieve something, he applies himself to accomplish it.

"The most important thing for me is that he loves Jesus and seeks Him. My hope and prayers are that the Lord guides him every day, that he uses his gifts and qualities to fulfill his purpose in life, that he grows up healthy, and that he always follows the will of the Lord. I also pray that the Lord will help him fulfill his dreams with art, which he enjoys very much! He is good at drawing, music, and acting, and he dreams of a career using these passions. I know that God is always good, and He will show us the way.

"When I found this school, my home was in chaos. I didn’t know what to do. My husband had left me during the middle of a school year. All five of my children have dyslexia and were enrolled in a special school. I feared that no other school would accept my children mid-year. Joshua’s dyslexia was bad, and he was at a critical stage; he could not read, he confused his letters, and his writing was poor. He was self-conscious and nervous. After my husband left, I could no longer pay the special school’s fees on top of our house rent. Then, the Lord brought me to Rey Sabio Salomón School in Quito, Ecuador, where they welcomed me and my children and offered them extra support. How wonderful that this institution goes beyond secular education, opening doors to those of us who at some point in life find ourselves in adverse circumstances. The small class sizes made the education almost seem personalized! And the education quality and the affordable costs are a blessing!

"The impact of the school is huge! Today Jashua is 18 years old and is about to graduate! He wants to study at the university. He has almost totally overcome his problems with reading! He is now a confident young man, full of dreams, able to speak in public, and communicates easily with people. Jashua recently made a movie and acted in it himself, and the whole school went to the cinema to see his movie. I tell you this because this was very significant for him; he now can see that even though his father is not with him, the Lord blessed him with a large family at school. I have no way to express my gratitude!

"I encourage you to continue helping people in the name of the Lord Jesus! Because He is worth it!"
