You keep ministry momentum moving when you support the ministry of our stateside missionaries: our Lifeline staff who dedicate their lives 24/7 to restoring hope around the world. Your prayers and donations enable our staff to be your hands and feet, as God's love is shared through Lifeline's ministry communities!

Reneé shares:

I first visited Haiti when I was twelve years old. I immediately fell in love with the charismatic people, vibrant culture, and exotic countryside. My parents founded Lifeline Christian Mission as I was approaching my teenage years and my time spent in Haiti was instrumental in shaping my beliefs, values, and identity.

I spoke Creole conversationally by the time I was fourteen, and was blessed to spend my summers in Haiti. I remember how all of the people on the plane would clap and cheer when we landed on American soil. I now realize that they were thankful to be arriving in a country much more fortunate than their own. I would cry and think about how much better it felt to be in Haiti, where the people were unspoiled and seemingly more authentic and guileless than any I had ever met. I always counted the days until I could go back, and corresponded with a growing list of friends and loved ones throughout the year.

There were a lot of 'firsts' for me in Haiti. It was my first time being completely immersed in another culture. I snorkeled for the first time in Haiti. I also experienced my 'first crush' at age sixteen with a boy who visited on a 'Work Crusade.'

My time in Haiti has been an adventure. From being close to tarantulas to swimming through a school of baby jellyfish, and from riding on a donkey’s back up a mountain to eating unusual things, I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything. I'm so thankful to my parents and especially to God, for having been blessed with such opportunities. My life has been enriched.

After graduating high school, I had the privilege of spending six weeks in Honduras. What an experience! I loved working in clinic, in the Merendon mountains, and I had fun teaching English classes to several of the church members. This, too, was among many experiences that shaped who I am.

I remember many heartfelt prayers and conversations with God over the years, as I fell in love with and grew in Him. I would sing, pray, and journal on the roof, in Haiti, with the mountains, ocean, sunrise, or stars, all around me. These were some of the most profound and priceless moments of my life!

Over the years I've been blessed to have friends and family go to Haiti with me. It was especially important to me that my three sons go to Haiti and experience how other people in the world live and exist. The Haitians have a way of making the best of bad situations and finding joy and love in the midst of poverty. In 2008, I was blessed to travel to Haiti with my sons and they loved it! I encourage you to go on a mission trip if you haven’t been on one before, it will change your life.

I have worked at Lifeline's home office, in Westerville, Ohio, since 1992. My duties have changed several times over the last twenty-seven years, but my responsibilities have included working with the child sponsorship program, working with gift processing, and working as the donations manager in finances. Currently I work with both the finances and human resources departments. I am a “behind the scenes” member of the Lifeline team these days and don't get to travel as much as I would like, but I LOVE my job and being a part of this ministry. I've been blessed by my experiences in the field, as well as by interactions with various supporters and co-workers while working in an administrative capacity. I've had the privilege of working side by side with Christian brothers and sisters while building homes and serving in Haiti, as well as at meal packing events in the USA. I've prayed with supporters while sitting in my office and they have prayed for me! I have been blessed.

Please consider supporting me financially by giving toward, 'The Ministry of Renee' Mead.' You can do this online, via our website, or by dropping a check in the mail with it's designation noted in the memo. By partnering with me and contributing toward my staff support either on a monthly basis, or with a one-time gift, you will be helping to free up other funds for Lifeline's various, life-changing programs and ministries. Please support me and Lifeline's entire ministry in prayer as well. Your ongoing prayers make a difference in Kingdom building! Thank you for taking the time to read this and for having a special place in your heart for God's neediest children, big and small, all over the world! Serving Him and you, Love, Reneé
