Patti shares: 

I began my relationship with Lifeline as a child sponsor many years ago.  I made my first trip to Haiti in 2008 and fell in love with the people there; I’ve returned three times since then.

I retired at the end of 2014, and after a few months I realized I couldn’t just sit around and do nothing.  But, what to do? God answered. I received an email from Lifeline; they needed a few volunteer receptionists. I signed up and began going to the office every Wednesday afternoon to answer phones and greet visitors.

In the Spring of 2016, Audra came to me and said she needed a part-time staff member on the sponsorship team, and she wanted me. I was taken aback by her offer; what could an old retired lady have to offer? God answered again—do it; and I learned that He had used my previous career to train me for this opportunity to serve Him. I was soon immersed in updating the database records for Lifeline’s school children. It is a joy to see those precious faces and learn about their lives.

In addition to this new career, I babysit my youngest granddaughter a couple of afternoons each week, hang out with my two other granddaughters (when they have time), volunteer at church in the children’s ministry and impact team, and spend time with my friends and sisters.
