Cause: Economic Empowerment
What does this look like in the field?
1) Discovery
Through the Discovery process, the local church gains a better perspective of how to be “good news” to its community. The church and field leadership identifies community resources and needs along with identifying and evaluating potential entrepreneur participants, based on their need, character, and potential.
2) Training
In-depth training focuses on the specific skills, practices, and strategies needed to start a sustainable business. Potential entrepreneurs will submit a detailed business plan for approval. Additionally, a basic business education seminar offers foundational business skills within a spiritual framework.
3) Micro-Finance
Through a partnership with Under the Same Tree, Lifeline provides start-up capital through micro-loans to entrepreneurs that have completed training and have developed approved business plans.
4) Micro-Enterprise
These small businesses, run by individuals, families, or groups, are coached through a pathway to become self-sustainable. Entrepreneurs also become part of a mentoring group at their local church that offers encouragement, coaching, spiritual guidance, accountability, belonging, and prayer. These small businesses will multiply as more needs are revealed and new entrepreneurs are inspired!
