Born to Multiply

Local Pastors, Mauricio and Bryan, work together to spread God's Kingdom in Honduras.

Mauricio is a young Lifeline leader full of passion and potential. Five years ago, he planted a church in Santa Cruz, Honduras, a town not far from where he grew up. He prayed that God would use him.

It felt like a slow process.

He introduced himself to a new community, knocked on doors, led Bible studies with whoever would listen and invited people to experience something new. There was no budget… There was just a Church-to-Church partner in Florida who covered his salary, sponsored the children's ministry, and visited every year to encourage them not to give up.

Mauricio and his family have been faithfully leading a church in Santa Cruz, Honduras for the last 5 years.

Today, Mauricio leads a vibrant church of 65 adults and over 60 kids. 

Becoming a big church was never their vision. Their vision was to multiply.

Several years ago, a student named Bryan, who was finishing his two-year training at Lifeline’s Bible Institute met Mauricio. Bryan admired Mauricio's vision and courage and wondered if God might be calling him to plant a church. Two of Lifeline's Honduran churches offered to chip in to provide Bryan a small salary, so he moved to Santa Cruz to continue learning from Mauricio.

Mauricio has been a terrific mentor and they have worked well as a team. The synergy of working together helped them dream bigger dreams. They soon determined that God was calling them to an area 30-40 minutes away called, Peña Blanca. 

Bryan began organizing evangelism efforts there and now leads different Bible studies with families in those neighborhoods every day. 

They have already established 3-4 house churches and are preparing to plant a new church in Peña Blanca later this year.

Today, new house churches are meeting in Peña Blanca and will soon form a new church!

The vision to multiply is more than just adding new converts or growing your church. It's making disciples who make disciples, developing leaders who develop leaders, and planting churches that plant churches. 

Santa Cruz, one of our newest congregations in Honduras, was born to multiply.
