Let the Little Children Come

Written by Raynald Metilus, Haiti Together Manager

In the small rural community of Vieux-Cayes, Haiti, children are seeking to know God. Their neighbors are diverse: some are Christian, yet others practice voodoo.

When the pastors of Lifeline Christian Church in Vieux-Cayes learned that Samaritan's Purse would provide the materials for a children's Bible study, our pastors immediately jumped at the opportunity. They recognized the importance of pointing the children in the church to the one true God.

Bible camp at VCSamaritan's Purse says, "The Greatest Journey is the name of this 12-lesson discipleship course that includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization. The goal of the program is for children to become faithful followers of Jesus Christ in their daily lives as they share Him with family and friends. And it all starts by training local teachers who love kids and are passionate about making disciples."

The children learned who God is and how to live a life pleasing to Him. Songs, games, and dances made the lessons come to life. Our older youth helped with the lessons, too.

Pastor Bruno said, "I am glad that we were able to do this with the children in our church. They were motivated! They always arrived on time and did their best to memorize the verses. They did not hesitate to share what they learned with their friends and family."

We ask you to continue to pray for our church in Vieux-Cayes so that more people can become disciples of God.
