Mobile Clinics: Bringing Healthcare to the People

Written by Kesaia Cojon, Honduras Together Manager

In November, Lifeline’s medical staff packed up medical equipment, medications, and supplies into their vehicles, and took these "mobile clinics" to 2 remote areas of Honduras.

Many people were involved in making the mobile clinics happen: medical staff, church members, Lifeline leaders, and volunteers. And the Lord prepared their hearts and minds to ready them for this service.

In the Merendon Mountains, 120 medical patients and 33 dental patients received care and services.

In Cofradia, in a partnership with the ministry “His Eyes,” 604 medical patients and 120 dental patients received care and services over the course of 2 days.

Among the patients was a 16-day-old baby who had been born at home and who had never been seen by a doctor.

Dr. Rebeca Zuniga, physician at Lifeline’s Ocotillo clinic, said, “People in these areas have access to a local community health center, but for most of them, the only opportunity for them to see a doctor is through the services of a mobile clinic. Thanks to God and the medical team, these patients also received much-needed medicine for their different ailments.”

With love, compassion, and gentleness, the clinic's team attended to the needs of each patient.
