The Gift You're Overlooking
Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Even though I know I should, I personally do not focus on making a goals list. Instead, I try each new year to focus on where I'm struggling in my walk with God.
I know my prayer life could use some more attention, so I have focused on talking to God throughout my day. This day long prayer is like connecting the dots; bringing Him into my whole day.
As Lifeline's Sponsorship Development Director, much of my day is focused on children. I find myself praying for each little one who crosses my desk: I pray for their faith in Jesus to strengthen, their lives to be filled with joy and love, that a loving sponsor will connect with them, and the list goes on. I have seen God work beautiful, amazing things in these children's lives.
I'd like to challenge you to make intentional, focused prayer a priority for your sponsored child in 2017. I have seen the amazing power of prayer and I know we serve a BIG God! A God who loves us and listens with rapt attention to our every prayer. Will you join me in praying daring, life-changing prayers for our sponsored kids?
Let's pray boldly for our sponsored kids:
- That they would know in their hearts that Jesus is Lord, that He came to save and love them, and that as a follower of Jesus, there is blessing in serving Him.
- For God to provide for their daily needs, both physically and spiritually.
- For God to protect their families and homes and that only God would be honored within.
- For their minds and hearts to soak in all that they are learning and for opportunities to grow at school and church.
- For positive friendships in their lives.
- For safety in play and work.
- For opportunities to share their faith with others who don't know God.
Thank you for all of the ways you show your support for these children. You are an extension of Christ's love in their lives!
Your prayers may just be the most important part of your involvement. Let's commit to this challenge together and pray diligently for our loved ones in Haiti, Honduras, Arizona and Guatemala.
