Ecuador

“Due to the high rate of teenage pregnancies and the reality that our students are developing and facing the concerns and curiosities of their age, we were faced with the question of how were we going to help them?

Ecuador has a contraceptive program that they promote strongly in schools, but we wanted to help them from the perspective of the love and respect that Jesus has for our bodies.

We decided to start a program that stimulated deep thinking in our students, teaching them and answering their questions from a scientific and Christian perspective as well. Helping them understand the physical and spiritual consequences of sexual promiscuity and making them appreciate the benefits of waiting for the person God has prepared for them.

The program lasts 10 months and ends with a commitment ceremony. We give them a ring as a symbol of their commitment and a Bible as a symbol of God's love.

In the 3 years we have been doing our True Love Waits program, the acceptance has been fantastic and as a result we have not had teenage pregnancies with the students at our school!

This year we had a young lady who arrived pregnant. She was a blessing for the school as it strengthened the conviction in her classmates of waiting and the school was a blessing for her because she was accepted, respected, and loved by everyone and today she enjoys a spiritual family that takes care of, helps, and protects her daughter and her.”

El Salvador

Haiti

This summer, a group of Haitian students have been engaging in a summer tutoring program. This program helps develop the student's imagination, reduce stress, increase creativity, and improve communication skills.

Raynald, Sponsorship Coordinator for Haiti, said, "We are truly blessed by our wonderful teachers who have put a lot of work into helping these students move forward with their education."

Honduras

Sofia and Ashley from the Omoa Children's Home in Honduras celebrated their 15th birthdays with a quinceañera celebration. This special cultural celebration marks a girl's transition from childhood to womanhood. These beautiful young women are also growing closer to their Heavenly Father. It’s an honor to celebrate them!
