Planting the hope of Jesus into the lives of children is so important. Why? Because “every day, children are bombarded with bad news and terrible influences,” said Deybee Berrios, Guatemala country director. “The message they hear is that they will only get ahead in life by doing wrong.

"So, we in the church are intent on showing them that there is a much better way: Christ Jesus.”

In December, the youth ministry focused on 1 Corinthians 9:24, which teaches that winners in life are those who try to follow God’s will.

Thanks to the prayers and support of people like you, these children learned about God's love for them!

Over two days, about 40 children enjoyed Bible activities, crafts and snacks. Some of the children had never set foot in a church. 

Now, just a few weeks later, the church is seeing the young children at church. More come each week. 

During the program, four teens from the church shared their testimonies and helped lead the activities. They wanted to pour into this young generation. When these teens were young children, they themselves had enjoyed this very type of youth program.

“Our focus is for the youth to be the church,” said Deybee. “We want to prepare them to achieve the fullness of God’s will in their lives. And for the greater church, our desire is for the church to be united in trying to reach everyone who does not know the love of God!”
