Cathi shares:

I’ve been with Lifeline for a long time! Even before I began working at Lifeline, I saw the ministry start from the ground up; as Bob & Gretchen, the founders, are my aunt and uncle. I officially began working with Lifeline in October 1996. I was job hunting and at that time Gretchen was the only person I knew who had a "home computer” (in her garage office), so I asked to use it to type up a resume. A couple days later, she called and offered me a "temporary part-time position" to work at the office while she went to Haiti. My original role was to answer phones, receive mail, process incoming sponsor gifts, and do daily bank deposits, etc.

A lot has changed since then! Within a few months of starting, Gretchen gave me more responsibilities with the travel for the mission teams. It turned into a full-time job within a couple years as Lifeline grew.  And, it's not just a job for me, it's a ministry. I love seeing the excitement of the new team leaders and members and hearing stories of how going on a mission trip changed the direction of their lives; it happens a lot! Folks go in the field thinking they are going to change the lives of the those they serve...but come back realizing their lives are the ones changed. 

Just as my role has changed these 20+ years, so has the ministry! God has opened doors for Lifeline to have churches and ministries in 9 countries. Remote villages are hearing God’s Word,  people are being baptized, churches are multiplying, and new leaders are being equipped to plant churches! And with the longevity of the ministry (it’s been around for 40 years), we’re seeing generational changes in our schools and communities. It's been exciting to witness the ministry growth!

Today, we, all the staff at Lifeline, want to see more growth in the ministry! There are so many more people who need to hear about God’s love. There are also so many more future team members who have yet to experience how God moves on the mission field, which is life changing! To enable more growth in the ministry, your help is needed.
