Kayla DyerKayla serves on our Centre Mobilization Team.

You keep ministry momentum moving when you support the ministry of our stateside missionaries: our Lifeline staff who dedicate their lives 24/7 to restoring hope around the world. Your prayers and donations enable our staff to be your hands and feet, as God's love is shared through Lifeline's ministry communities!

Kayla shares:

I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where my parents instilled in me the value of community service and involvement in church. Even as a teenager, I was eager to help others, and I started a cheering group called Ruckus to cheer on my peers at school. During my summers, I traveled around the United States with Christian conferences to lead kids' ministry, share Bible stories, worship, play games, and pray with them for weeks or months at a time.

One of the most memorable mission trips I went on was to Guatemala, where we ministered to villages that practiced witchcraft. During our stay, we were forced to stay in a dirt-floor living room with no roof because of a recent raid in the area. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of third-world poverty and changed my perspective on life forever.

After graduating from Johnson & Wales University, I partnered with a Nashville-based nonprofit that provided free health services to young women to help them regain their quality of life. I was part of the fundraising committee that brought a location to Charlotte, organizing events such as lunch-and-learns, galas, and 5K’s to raise awareness and educate our community. This experience led me to work in a free nonprofit medical clinic that supported local women by providing medical services and infant supplies.

Over the years, I learned marketing skills to help these nonprofits and ministries spread their message despite their limited budgets. These skills eventually landed me a remote job freelancing these services when I started having children.

I feel that the path that led me here is a 'God thing.' My family and I are thrilled that I am now part of the Lifeline team.

My husband and I have been married for 12 years, and we have a 9-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. We love picking antiques and visiting old barns to salvage pieces of history. We also always have a sport or two going on, and we enjoy attending our city's sporting events, such as the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Kannapolis Cannonballers, with our friends. We try to visit the North Carolina mountains as often as possible, and we also love going to the North Carolina beaches a couple of times a year.
