Sarah Sheperis

Emily WongSarah serves on our Centre Mobilization Team.

You keep ministry momentum moving when you support the ministry of our stateside missionaries: our Lifeline staff who dedicate their lives 24/7 to restoring hope around the world. Your prayers and donations enable our staff to be your hands and feet, as God's love is shared through Lifeline's ministry communities!

Sarah shares:

I am so excited to be a part of the Lifeline team!

I began my work in ministry many years ago when God placed me with a pregnancy resource center in 2007 where I served for 14 years, 10 of which were as the Executive Director.

My journey with Lifeline also began many years ago with mission trips to Grand-Goâve, Haiti.  My first trip in 2011 fell during Haiti’s 1-year anniversary of the earthquake.  Although a full year had passed since the deadly quake, there was STILL so much devastation, and the need for basic living necessities was overwhelming.  Though the amount of devastation and unmet needs the people of Grand-Goâve had experienced were so great, they worshiped God like nothing I had ever seen before.  Lifeline offered hope through meeting basic needs of the community while sharing the gospel and giving the glory to God.  They were truly saving lives physically and spiritually.  I was hopelessly hooked on serving with Lifeline. I came home forever changed and had fallen in love with the people of Haiti, and I returned four additional times through Lifeline.

In the U.S., most of us grow up knowing that world poverty exists, but to SEE it firsthand truly changed how I would respond to it. I have had the privilege of taking part in several food packing events for Lifeline here in the U.S.  I have also been blessed to be in Haiti when those same food packages that were packed in the U.S. arrived at the compound.  It was amazing to be able to see the difference that those meals made as they are distributed to the community.

As I step into my role with Lifeline at the Charlotte Centre, I feel like God’s plan has come full circle.  It is so exciting to me to look back and see the pieces that God was putting together in my life way back in 2011 with my first trip to Haiti because He knew that I would eventually be a part of the Lifeline team.

I am very passionate about serving and helping others. My family has always been gracious in supporting me to serve and follow God’s leading in my life. I am very thankful to my husband and our three children for all their love and support… they have never doubted me and have always encouraged me to GO when I am called!

My husband and I are new to the Empty Nesters world. We are looking forward to spending time outdoors hiking, traveling and camping with our two dogs (aka replacement children), and we hope to take up kayaking as well. Besides loving the outdoors, I am a HUGE sports fan! During football season, you will most likely find me in front of the TV on Sunday afternoons with all of my many pets because I am also a total sucker for stray animals.
