Kenya at a Glance

A country located in East Africa, Kenya is known for its various landscapes and diverse wildlife. As it continues to develop as a nation, you can find both urban and rural settings - ranging from the large, bustling capital city of Nairobi to the grasslands of Narok where you will find many of the traditional Masaai people. The country is known for its widespread Christianity, with the country about 85% Christian, but it consistently ranks in the top 20 of the poorest countries in the world. This is an opportunity to equip Christians and local churches to care about the plight of the poor and vulnerable as Jesus did.

Lifeline in Kenya

Lifeline Christian Mission first sent meals to Kenya in 2019 to open the door for a partnership to take root. The partnership that developed from that meal shipment is with Life In Abundance (LIA)which empowers church leaders in Africa and the Caribbean to sustainably meet the social, economic, education, and health needs of their communities, bringing hope to the vulnerable. Lifeline's partnership with LIA is called BeFriend.  LIA's African staff carry out the actual ministry in the field, while BeFriend is the vehicle for connecting North American churches in a meaningful, purposeful way to the work LIA is doing in Africa.  Through this partnership, the North American church can fuel empowerment and break the cycle of poverty in a marginalized community.
